About the Project
Jawaja Leather Association (JLA) is a constituent association of the Artisans’ Alliance of Jawaja (AAJ), which is managed independently by the artisans themselves through a democratic system of governance that is linked to its history. The entity has been a source of sustainable income and livelihood opportunities for all its artisans. It has reinstated a sense of dignity among the artisans and has instilled in them a spirit of self-reliance.
